FIRE at the Mansion House Workplace Tour

Our Blossom Gateway teens had a fantastic time at the workplace tour of FIRE @ the Mansion House recently. We were welcomed by the receptionists and Executive Chef Richie Wilson & firstly shown where guests have a drink while waiting for their table.

Next up was the main bar where drinks are made, we saw the various glasses used for different types of drinks, and Richie showed us on an iPad the seating system Fire use for their guests. Then, on to the dining rooms – the smaller of the two has exclusive rooms that can be booked for private gatherings. The larger dining room was all set for a corporate lunch. We met some of the chefs, including the main man who keeps the wood fired oven burning all evening!

After the kitchen we visited the function room which can be used for award shows, weddings and even acrobatic shows! We got to go onstage and see what it would be like to make a speech to a room that fits 600 people. then had a chance to control the lights – learning how to use the different switches, colour schemes etc.

Next was lunch – the chefs we’d met earlier cooked gorgeous burgers and chips for us all.

After lunch we went next door to the Mansion House itself to see where the Lord Mayor of Dublin lives – we saw where he and his wife entertain guests & the dining room where the Lord Mayor eats his dinner!

Finally (and possibly most importantly!) everyone went back to Fire for ice-cream cones before getting the bus back to Raheny. Alex somehow ended up with two!!
